Natalie Evans – Under The Moon

Natalie Evans returns with her unique, otherworldly vocal style and elegant harp-playing on new single, Under The Moon. Being released digitally this October, the electro, harp gem is a taste of what we have come to love from Evans.

Her signature vocals are as entrancing as ever and the catchy electro beat keeps things right up to date and accessible for a variety of musical tastes. It also adds a fantastical element, striking up visions of a beautiful, futuristic land – I could imagine this working effectively as part of a film or game soundtrack.

Lyrically this is a song about two lovers who end up living on different sides of the world and there is a lovely, innocent tone to the track. With such an angelic voice it might have been tempting for Evans to stick with cliché romantic narratives so I am pleasantly surprised with her theme of choice – and look forward to a broad variety of stories and relationships explored in the new release.

Every element in this song pulls together seamlessly to create an ethereal and dreamlike soundscape. The production is crisp and clean – which further adds to the lush ambient feeling, rather than taking anything away from the track. It’s clear that producer Ekoda Map (ex Delta Sleep member, who Evans has previously collaborated with) has a great feel for what she wanted to achieve from this track.

This is an exciting hint of what is to come in the future.

The single launch will take place on October 29 at The Slaughtered Lamb, London.
